Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit, including monitoring and managing ED HOLD patients.
• Work efficiently with ancillary staff and unit personnel to ensure quality patient care.
• Document patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Assist with procedures such as IV insertion, blood draws, bladder scans, and glucose monitoring.
• Collaborate with respiratory support staff for ventilator management when necessary.
• Cover multiple units, including Medical/Surgical Oncology, Orthopedics, and Urology, as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; CMSRN certification preferred.
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• NIHSS certification required prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working in telemetry, ED hold, or tele units.
• Strong adaptability to shift rotations and unit protocols.
• Reliable transportation and readiness for weather conditions, especially November-April.
