Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge and the nursing process, including patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collect and analyze patient health data, involving patients and families, and document findings systematically.
  • Develop individualized care plans with measurable, realistic goals in collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Implement prescribed interventions safely and effectively while ensuring continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, monitor care effectiveness, and contribute to policy development to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain current clinical knowledge through ongoing education and certification, including Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS).
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families for coordinated care delivery.
  • Uphold ethical standards, including patient confidentiality, advocacy, and respecting patient rights and diversity.
  • Support research and evidence-based practice initiatives to improve patient care quality.
  • Demonstrate leadership by prioritizing and delegating care, adapting to healthcare environment changes, and performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Participate in patient transportation and ensure compliance with all relevant nursing standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Proven experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry units preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS) certification (must be obtained within four months of probation end).

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a hospital setting with a focus on Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
