Job Title

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shift (3x12-hour shifts, 1800-0630), 12 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care in a Level I trauma, acute care hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Assist with high-risk and normal deliveries, including vaginal and Cesarean section procedures.
• Monitor fetal well-being using external and internal fetal monitoring, recognize abnormal patterns, and respond accordingly.
• Administer medications such as antihypertensives, Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Prostaglandins, following protocols.
• Conduct neonatal assessments, including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and newborn procedures like cord care and phototherapy.
• Support postpartum patient care, including wound management, medication administration, and discharge teaching.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois registered nurse license or in the application process with ETA.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Labor and Delivery or related high-risk obstetrical units.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certification required.
• Ability to assist with sterile exams, fetal assessment, and neonatal care procedures.
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Community hospital experience.
• Knowledge of complex obstetric and neonatal care.
• Flexibility to float within scope to pediatric units based on need.
• Experience with labor Management skills, including hemorrhage/shock management, and postpartum care.
