Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Record treatments administered and note patient progress in medical records.
• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatments to residents and patients with disabilities to relieve pain, restore function, and promote healing.
• Ensure all treatments follow established care plans and adhere to regulatory guidelines.
• Support patients, families, and caregivers through clinical instruction and guidance.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and document progress accurately.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education).
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Empathy and patience in patient care.
• Physical stamina to assist with patient movement and exercises.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility.
