Job Title
• Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant
Location
• Abilene, TX
Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Days shift, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments to residents with temporary or long-term disabilities to alleviate pain, restore or enhance function, and support healing
• Deliver treatments following an established plan of care under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Record treatments provided and document patient progress in medical records in compliance with policies and regulations
• Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust care as necessary
• Complete required documentation in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist
• Empathy, patience, and physical stamina for assisting with patient movement and exercises
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility (may be a state requirement)
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• Knowledge of documentation best practices and regulatory compliance
