- Full-time, contract, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs during recovery from anesthesia, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and interventions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following established protocols and policies.
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, recovery processes, and self-care needs.
- Supervise and provide guidance to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in the unit.
- Complete procedure-specific and competency-based education and testing as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
- PALS certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
- At least one previous 13-week travel assignment.
- Minimum of two years current experience in a PACU or similar specialty setting.
- Ability to work flexible, fast-paced schedules, and collaborate effectively as a team.
- Prior experience with EPIC EHR system (training available on-site).
- Willingness to pass the basic cardiac arrhythmias (BCA) test within the first week of the assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a hospital in New Mexico or a similar state.
- Additional certifications or training related to PACU care.
