• Full-time, contract, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs during recovery from anesthesia, ensuring timely and effective care.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and interventions.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following established protocols and policies.
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, recovery processes, and self-care needs.
• Supervise and provide guidance to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in the unit.
• Complete procedure-specific and competency-based education and testing as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
• PALS certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
• At least one previous 13-week travel assignment.
• Minimum of two years current experience in a PACU or similar specialty setting.
• Ability to work flexible, fast-paced schedules, and collaborate effectively as a team.
• Prior experience with EPIC EHR system (training available on-site).
• Willingness to pass the basic cardiac arrhythmias (BCA) test within the first week of the assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a hospital in New Mexico or a similar state.
• Additional certifications or training related to PACU care.
