Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients in the emergency room, including triage, assessment, and prioritization based on physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Perform focused assessments of patient chief complaints in accordance with triage protocols, making quick and accurate judgments about patient condition.
• Administer medications, assist with procedures, transfer patients, and support activities of daily living while ensuring patient safety.
• Document patient care accurately and timely, communicate pertinent assessment findings to healthcare providers, and carry out provider orders.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
• Manage medical equipment and medications, adhering to protocols to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members with respect, dignity, and empathy, addressing psychosocial and cultural needs.
• Follow all policies and procedures relating to biohazardous materials, infection control, and medication safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license.
• Ability to perform focused emergency assessments and provide age-appropriate care.
• Knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in an emergency room setting.
• BLS/ACLS certification.
• Flexibility to work 12-hour day shifts.
