Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type:
Full-time, temporary travel assignment, night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 13-week duration

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including stroke and neuro-designated patients
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic medical records (Meditech)
• Maintain a compassionate and engaging bedside manner to ensure patient comfort and safety
• Adhere to unit protocols, including equipment operation and infection control standards

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia or applicable state
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• At least 2 years of recent RN experience in a medical-surgical or similar setting
• Experience working with stroke or neuro patients preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and contribute to a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• NIH Stroke certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Experience with Meditech electronic health record system
