Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a Medical Surgical/Oncology unit for adult patients battling cancer, palliative care, and related family education.
- Manage a unit with 5:1 patient ratio during day shifts, including telemetry, central line draws, blood administration, PCA pumps, and port management.
- Assist with chemotherapy administration and other advanced clinical skill requirements, with flexibility to float within scope as needed.
- Adhere to safety and certification protocols, including BLS and oncology-specific certifications, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Support patient education and family communication, and assist with complex procedures such as bone marrow aspirations and chest tube management.
Required Qualifications
- Valid WV or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable).
- Minimum of 2 years' RN experience in a similar setting.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience with telemetry, Central Line draws, blood product administration, PCA pumps, and other clinical skills listed.
- Ability to work day shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) with every other weekend required.
- Reliable transportation and adherence to travel radius policies.
- Covid vaccination documentation (flu shot required, Covid not mandatory).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience administering chemotherapy is preferred but not required.
- Ability to complete required modules prior to start and demonstrate compliance with hospital protocols.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work collaboratively within a busy, teaching hospital environment.

- Position involves working within a 100-mile radius of Charleston, WV, with some consideration for candidates slightly outside this range based on experience and approval.
