Respiratory Therapist
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory therapy and support to patients in NICU or PICU settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust therapies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Float within hospital units including neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care units as needed.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and certification requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Indiana State License in Respiratory Therapy.
- Certified as an RRT through NBRC.
- ACLS and BLS certifications in hand prior to submission.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in NICU or pediatric critical care, preferably at a Children's Hospital within the last 3 years.
- Recent NICU or PICU experience required.
- Ability to obtain NRP certification if required for unit placement.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- PALS certification is preferred.
- Experience working in adult Level 1 trauma or critical care units is a plus.
Additional Notes:
- Floating is mandatory across hospital units and affiliate facilities.
- In-state candidates are considered local and eligible for in-state rates.
- Must have all certifications in hand before employment start date; temporary licenses may be available post-application.
- 12 months of travel or permanent IU employment requires a break period before applying as a traveler again.
- Out-of-state residents need a 90-day break to reset eligibility.
- Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
- Candidate must provide SSN and DOB at submission.
