Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location:
Charleston, WV
Schedule / Job Type:
Travel, Night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekdays, every other weekend
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department with 24 beds
- Manage a varied patient population, including infants to Geriatrics, in a high-acuity setting
- Float within scope to meet facility needs and support trauma, neurological, orthopedic, psychiatric, and renal emergency cases
- Adhere to patient ratios of 4:1 and utilize critical skills such as IV starts and telemetry
- Complete required certifications and documentation prior to start, including orientation modules
- Maintain compliance with facility policies including vaccination, flu shots, and license requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a comparable emergency or trauma setting
- Valid WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted if active license will be in hand prior to start)
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI (must be obtained prior to start)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and manage high-acuity trauma patients
- Strong skills in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Prior experience in Level 1 Trauma or high-volume emergency departments
- Comfortable with patient float duties within scope of practice
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance and certification requirements
