Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Infection Control

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, day shifts, 1 shift per week

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program in alignment with all relevant regulatory agencies and best practices.
• Collect, analyze, and report infection control data and ensure compliance with reporting standards for agencies such as NHSN, CMS, CDC, OSHA, and TJC.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on infection prevention, facilitating education and training for staff, patients, and communities.
• Conduct employee orientation and ongoing training on IPC procedures and standards.
• Act as chair for the IPC committee and oversee the Employee Health program, providing guidance and oversight as needed.
• Travel to various sites within the organization to conduct assessments, education, and training activities.

Required Qualifications
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state (applicant must have applied for Alaska license if not yet licensed).
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field such as nursing, public health, epidemiology, or microbiology.
• Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC).
• Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire, renewed biannually.
• Clinical competency and manager competency within 3 months of hire, with ongoing renewal every three years.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care and/or infection control, data collection, and performance improvement.
• Knowledge of epidemiology and infectious disease principles.
• Experience in long-term care settings is a plus.
• Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and project management.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office and database applications.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear policy, staff education, and practices.
