Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging in accordance with ARDMS protocols for various exams, including OB/GYN, abdomen, pelvic/endovaginal, breast, thyroid, scrotum, and vascular studies such as DVT, arterial legs, and carotids.
- Receive patients, explain procedures, and select appropriate equipment to ensure quality patient care.
- Conduct echocardiography procedures (preferred).
- Handle office duties within a small department, including answering phones, scheduling exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching issues, ordering supplies, and assisting providers.
- Collaborate with staff to foster a positive working environment.
- Document Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities for imaging modalities, including high-level disinfection and adherence to Joint Commission regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Imaging or related field.
- Certification in diagnostic sonography (ARDMS preferred).
- At least 1 year of ultrasound experience.
- Valid ARDMS certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with echocardiography.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to ultrasound procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and maintain clean, functional work areas and properly care for equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with radiologists, providers, patients, and staff.
