Travel RN – Adult Psychiatric (Night Shift)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Weekends Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients on a 23-bed inpatient behavioral health unit with patient ratios of 5–8
• Respond to behavioral health emergencies including aggressive patients, rapid response situations, and Code Blue events
• Perform clinical procedures including blood draws, IV placement, wound care, and vital sign monitoring using unit equipment such as glucometers, bladder scanners, and oxygen delivery systems
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
• Manage high volumes of admissions and discharges, with up to 10 per day on a fast-paced unit
• Float to other inpatient adult units and geriatric unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
• Demonstrated ability to manage aggressive patients with strong critical thinking, patience, and compassion
• Strong time management skills with the ability to perform effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior behavioral health nursing experience
• Experience working with diverse behavioral health populations including adult, adolescent, geriatric, and pediatric patients
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
