Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical unit with 56 beds, including private and semi-private rooms.
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and other acute conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists, to deliver quality care.
• Administer medications and treatments, including titratable drips like Heparin and Lasix, in accordance with physician orders.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records for documentation and coordination of patient care.
• Support patient education and discharge planning to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or active application in process.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with Central Lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes.
• Knowledge of EPIC EMR system (preferred).
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients with complex conditions.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience on a MedSurg floor, preferably in a level I trauma center.
• Travel nursing experience.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring using Phillips monitors.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR software.
