Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 hours per week guaranteed | Onsite | Holidays required; every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide complex monitoring and treatment of adult cardiac patients in an 8-bed high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
• Receive and manage patients from the Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac care
• Collaborate with all disciplines of the care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Demonstrate high levels of professional competency in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Maintain a safe, secure, and patient-centered care environment
• Float to other units and hospital locations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or valid compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); Nursys verification required
• Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of recent CVICU/CICU specialty experience
• AHA ACLS certification
• AHA BLS certification
• AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification (required if assigned to a pediatric unit)
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• 2 or more years of CICU/CVICU nursing experience
