Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care, including identifying patient risk factors, prioritizing needs, and determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team.
• Administer patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice; recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes while addressing educational needs based on level of comprehension.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with case management as indicated.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
