Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 12 Weeks | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care for a diverse patient population including high-risk respiratory, cardiac thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and head/neck surgery patients
• Monitor and manage patients on a range of respiratory support modalities from room air through BIPAP and Optiflow
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans within a pulmonary/thoracic step-down unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective transitions of care for intermediate acuity patients
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intermediate Care, PCU, or Step Down setting
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience managing patients on BIPAP or Optiflow respiratory support
• Background in pulmonary, thoracic, or surgical step-down nursing
