Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Three 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) with every 4th weekend rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate individualized patient care for Med/Surg and EICU patients throughout hospitalization
- Initiate and document patient plan of care based on assessment and medical diagnosis, setting priorities for nursing action in accordance with departmental expectations
- Monitor, observe, and communicate patient condition changes in a timely manner to the provider, utilizing computerized documentation systems including the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Administer medications proficiently, including IV therapy, and perform or assist with procedures per approved departmental policy and procedure
- Initiate patient and family education plans and discharge planning based on individualized patient needs and provider orders
- Maintain a safe patient environment by applying Universal Precautions, asepsis, and infection control procedures while safely managing care for multiple patients
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two-year degree in Nursing required
- Must hold and maintain a valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required or must be obtained within 1 month of hire
- ACLS certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Intermediate or higher proficiency with computers and electronic medical record systems
- Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and strong clinical problem-solving skills required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- PALS certification encouraged
- Experience in a Med/Surg and/or ICU/EICU clinical setting preferred
