Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate in the OR setting as required across 4 operating rooms
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC documentation systems
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, including sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license accepted
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment — no exceptions
- Demonstrated high-risk Labor and Delivery experience
- Ability to circulate in the OR and provide full newborn care (eyes, Vitamin K, newborn assessments) — hard stop requirement
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
- Must pass clinical review; current Nursys verification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
