Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional skilled nursing care to a diverse intermediate care patient population, including patients with cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA), seizures, and other neurological conditions
• Care for high-risk respiratory patients, including those requiring heated high-flow oxygen and BiPAP support; ventilator experience required
• Maintain targeted patient ratios of 1:4–6, functioning within either a team nursing or primary nursing model depending on unit needs
• Collaborate with LPNs and PCTs in a team nursing model to divide workload and optimize patient care outcomes
• Float to medically appropriate units or support nursing care teams within designated specialty clusters, including high-risk respiratory and neurology units, as assigned
• Complete required EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment prior to assignment start and adhere to all unit compliance requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (any state accepted; compact license accepted; temporary license available upon offer)
• Demonstrated PCU or Stepdown experience with 1:5 ratio experience documented in work history — ICU experience alone does not qualify
• Ventilator experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• IV start certification preferred
• Experience with high-risk respiratory patient populations, including BiPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy
