Registered Nurse – Transplant Operating Room

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30) | Weekends Preferred | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a unit dedicated exclusively to abdominal transplants, including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures
• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across transplant and multi-specialty surgical cases as required by float assignments
• Maintain accurate regulatory charting specific to transplant procedures using Cerner EMR
• Fulfill on-call requirements of approximately 40–60 hours per 6-week period
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed to support surgical services staffing
• Adhere to all transplant unit protocols and regulatory compliance standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of transplant operating room experience, with demonstrated kidney and liver transplant experience required
• Active Indiana RN license, temporary Indiana license, or valid compact license required at time of start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Regulatory charting certification for transplants required
• Must be willing and able to fulfill on-call and float obligations
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pancreatic and intestinal/multi-visceral transplant procedures
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records system
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced short-term acute care surgical environment
