Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / General Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 38
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac emergencies
- Manage IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, port access, and blood product administration
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage heparin protocols and PCA
- Provide pre- and post-procedural care for cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and surgical patients
- Float to like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC, or Stepdown settings
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system
- Demonstrated experience with non-invasive respiratory management (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, chest tubes), wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
- Ability to work every other weekend and up to 2 of 3 major holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Experience in a teaching hospital environment
- Level I Trauma center experience
