Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / General Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 38
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac emergencies
• Manage IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, port access, and blood product administration
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage heparin protocols and PCA
• Provide pre- and post-procedural care for cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and surgical patients
• Float to like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC, or Stepdown settings
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system
• Demonstrated experience with non-invasive respiratory management (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, chest tubes), wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
• Ability to work every other weekend and up to 2 of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse experience
• Experience in a teaching hospital environment
• Level I Trauma center experience
