Contract | Days (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Medical Surgical Urology/Nephrology unit with an average daily census of 23
• Perform pre- and post-hemodialysis management and care for patients in renal failure
• Monitor patients via telemetry and remote monitoring; utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
• Manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, and starting IVs
• Administer medications including Heparin and provide respiratory support using CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, chest tubes, and oral suctioning
• Perform wound care and wound vac management; maintain isolation precautions and document all care in Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience with telemetry/remote monitoring and emergency response skills including Rapid Response Teams
• Ability to float to other Medical Surgical units within scope as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Background in MS/Telemetry or combined Med/Surg-Tele settings
• Experience with genitourinary and renal patient populations
• Familiarity with non-invasive airway management and portable oxygen equipment
