Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic)

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, DVT, PE, chest pain, and dehydration
• Assist with and monitor special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care (radial and femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT angiography, and Heparin drips
• Support integrated pain management, physical therapy coordination, and patient mobility initiatives
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas within documented competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate (Compact) RN license — pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in an orthopedic or Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must meet facility distance eligibility requirements to qualify as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with spinal surgery patient populations and post-operative orthopedic care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient management in a Med/Surg environment
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed — first-time travelers accepted
