Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12-Hour Shifts, 36 or 48 hours accepted)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing diagnoses including traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, subdural hematoma, orthopedic trauma, and neurological conditions
• Administer blood products, manage heparin drips, PCA, and other IV therapies including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
• Perform wound care, colostomy care, feeding tube management, surgical drain management, and chest tube care (Emerson/Pleuravac)
• Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, oxygen protocol, and non-invasive airway management including tracheostomy and oral suctioning
• Document accurately using Epic and operate unit systems including Pyxis and SBAR communication
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed; participate in storm, hurricane, or disaster response teams as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience within the last 5 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record documentation
• Ability to manage heparin drips, PCA, phlebotomy, IV starts, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Comfort with patient ratios of 1:5–6 and every-other-weekend scheduling requirement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification and proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management, drip management, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, or spinal cord injuries
• Background in neurological trauma or neuroscience nursing settings
