Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evening Shift (5x8 Hours, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) | Monday–Friday with occasional weekend and holiday rotation | On-call coverage required approximately once every two months on weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex histologic procedures including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry (IHC)
• Conduct quality control on completed slides and identify problems that may affect diagnosis or results
• Record observations from tests and document maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the laboratory
• Comply with established laboratory policies and procedures
• Utilize Epic Beaker for laboratory charting and documentation
• Participate in emergency response team assignments as required during hurricane season (June–November)

Required Qualifications

• HT(ASCP) certification issued by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 5 years of full-time histology experience required
• Epic Beaker experience required
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology, or a related scientific discipline
• QIHC (Qualification in Immunohistochemistry) certification
• 5 years of experience with IHC and Special Stains
