Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Weekends Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medically complex, critically ill patients including those with respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, various shock states, ARDS, DKA, CVA post-tPA, and cardiac arrest with TTM
• Support and assist with high-acuity bedside procedures including central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and code blue response
• Manage standard patient ratios of 2:1, with the possibility of increased ratios up to 4:1 when boarding patients awaiting inpatient transfer
• Document and chart accurately using EPIC electronic health records system
• Float to telemetry units as census requires; travelers must also be prepared to float between nearby sister facilities
• Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU/MICU experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients requiring noninvasive or mechanical ventilation
• Familiarity with high-acuity, fast-paced medical ICU environments
• Prior experience with EPIC charting system
• Experience floating to telemetry or step-down units
