Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics
• Deliver care in a Level 4 NICU environment, adhering to unit-specific protocols and standards
• Support cardiac PICU patients as needed, floating within scope of practice across applicable units
• Participate in a self-scheduling model, working collaboratively with unit leadership to meet coverage needs
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as required during onboarding

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Active Virginia RT license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — a current license in another state is required to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
• Maximum 40 hours of requested time off (RTO) per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
