Cardiac Surgery Step Down Unit with patients aged >18. Patients are admitted pre-op and cared for up to surgery. They are then cared for from transfer from the ICU through discharge.
Ratio- 1:3-5 for all shifts
Every other weekend required
7300/7200 is a cardiothoracic surgery step down unit which provides care to adult patients requiring or who have already received, cardiothoracic surgery. The patient are admitted and are cared for from pre-operational, to surgery, transfer from the ICU post-surgically, through discharge.
Common surgical procedures for our patients include coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), mitral valve repair or replacement (MVR), aortic valve repair or replacement (AVR), aortic aneurysm repair, Maze procedure, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), heart transplant, and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implant.
Nurse to patient ratios vary from 1:3 to 1:5 depending on the acuity level of the patient.
BCLS/ACLS required
1-2 years experience preferred
Will accept first time travelers
