Medical-Surgical experience is preferred. Not required to have certification in administering chemotherapy. Oncology or GYN/Womens health experience is not required.
– 29 bed surgical oncology unit that provides comprehensive health care to inpatients from young adult to geriatric ages. The unit care for patients with diagnoses related to Women’s diseases including surgery of the female reproductive system, gynecology/oncology, infections of the female reproductive system, and mastectomy. Hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and orthopedic tumors. The care includes patients receiving chemotherapy and treatment for chemotherapy complications; patients needing pain management secondary to cancer; hematology-oncology patients needing medical management; and patients receiving radiation implant treatments requiring hospitalization. Other surgery patients may include patients needing care following ENT, pulmonary, gastroenterology and ophthalmologic treatments or surgery. The patient population also includes non-telemetry medical patients requiring medical management of various acute or chronic conditions.
