General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Adult general medical/surgical/telemetry, PCU units that takes care of a wide variety of patient populations. Job duties are working within the scope of practice as a nurse, taking care of critically ill patients. Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients. Environment of care may be long term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural driven.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EPIC is the computer charting system we use.
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 Years Med/Surg Expereince
Minimum 6 months of Telemetry experience
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS required,
ACLS preferred,
Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?):
All Med/Surg departments, Tele, PCU Depending on Skills
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only). Day shift-1:4 Night shift: 1:5
Dress Code: Nebraska Medicine does have a designated dress code for all staff. Staff nurses are required to wear gray scrubs.
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. For travel nurses, we give 3 shifts of orientation with our float pool staff and then you will be dedicated to your unit.
