Senior Staff Accountant  

  • Location: Miami, FL 33143

  • Shifts: Monday- Friday 8 am – 5 pm

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Pay: $90,000-$100,00 Depending on experience

  • Our Musts: 5 years experience, Bachelor’s degree 

Skills and Requirements

  • Take ownership of the preparation and analysis of monthly reconciliations and accruals.
  • Solid analytical skills and an ability to communicate findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure all month-end responsibilities are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work effectively and resourcefully under tight deadlines.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with company standards and policies as well as drive improvements to processes & documentation management.
  • Manage the organization’s S Corp business and LLC accounting processes and reporting to provide internal and external resources as needed.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and account for bank fees, interest assessments, and corporate credit card transactions
  • Support the organization’s annual financial statement audit by working directly with and providing support to the auditors as needed
  • Support the accounting for debt financing arrangements and covenant compliance.
  • Partner with the management team to ensure successful integration of additional services offered into the organization’s accounting systems and processes.
  • Hands-on approach to learn existing accounting processes, in-depth understanding of the revenue and expenses in an ophthalmology practice, and develop enhanced reporting methods to support the organization’s growth.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to assist in multiple functional areas within the accounting and finance group.
  • Other accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA qualification preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with a mid to large-sized organization or CPA firm.
  • Prior public accounting audit experience is a plus.
  • High-level proficiency in the use of accounting software programs plus Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Electronic Practice Management and QuickBooks software experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of accounting controls and compliance practices.
  • High energy for fast-paced practice, demonstrates an ability to function in a creative, entrepreneurial environment; with a professional demeanor, composed and effective under pressure, and able to adapt to new and changing conditions.
