Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Speech Language Pathology services to patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of therapy.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, involving patients and their families.
- Document patient evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation per departmental policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient care and family conferences, and contribute to departmental meetings and programs.
- Supervise Speech Language Pathology students and volunteers; assist with clinical program development and departmental operations.
- Support performance improvement activities and community resource referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Texas.
- Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- CCC-SLP certification required.
- BLS certification (AHA).
- Successfully completed the Clinical Fellowship Year as outlined by ASHA.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with general medical, stroke, neuro, ortho, and bedside patients.
- Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Ability to work with adult populations and in NICU settings.
