Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Speech Language Pathology services to patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of therapy.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities for inpatient and outpatient populations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, involving patients and their families.
• Document patient evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation per departmental policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary patient care and family conferences, and contribute to departmental meetings and programs.
• Supervise Speech Language Pathology students and volunteers; assist with clinical program development and departmental operations.
• Support performance improvement activities and community resource referrals.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Texas.
• Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• CCC-SLP certification required.
• BLS certification (AHA).
• Successfully completed the Clinical Fellowship Year as outlined by ASHA.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with general medical, stroke, neuro, ortho, and bedside patients.
• Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Ability to work with adult populations and in NICU settings.
