Frequently Asked Questions

Are there benefits to a paraprofessional obtaining the RBT certification to be trained in behavior support?

Yes. The RBT credential equips paraprofessionals with specialized skills to support behavior needs, especially in special education, leading to more consistent interventions and stronger student outcomes.

Do you help paraprofessionals become RBT-certified?

We do. While we don’t provide the certification training ourselves, we’re happy to support paraprofessionals who want to pursue their RBT credential. Taking this step can strengthen their confidence, enhance their effectiveness in behavior support, and make an even greater difference in the classroom.

What models of support do you provide through your RBT program?

We offer flexible models to meet school needs, including:

  • 1:1 support for students with IEPs who require individualized assistance.
  • RBT Float to support entire classrooms.
  • District Float to serve multiple classrooms or schools as needed.

Can iDEAL support our existing RBTs with supervision?

Yes. Our BCBAs provide flexible supervision — virtual or onsite — ensuring your RBTs are supported while easing the caseload burden on your school’s BCBA. This is especially valuable if you’re struggling to hire due to limited candidate availability (such as in rural areas) or the high cost of adding a full-time BCBA.

How quickly can we get started?

We work to move as quickly as possible. After learning about your school’s needs, we can begin matching the right support within days and get services started in a way that best supports your students.

What’s the cost for behavior support staffing?

Our approach is designed to be cost-neutral for schools. The hourly rate is similar to hiring directly, but we also take on the responsibility of covering benefits, credentialing, and compliance. This way, your staff are fully supported without added burden — allowing schools to keep resources focused where they matter most: students.

Can you help if we need mid-year staffing support, or does it have to be for the full school year?

Yes, we can support your school at any point in the year. Staffing can be arranged for any number of weeks, whether short-term coverage or longer-term needs, giving you flexibility to fill gaps whenever they arise.
