Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients by observing movements, performing standardized tests, and listening to their concerns to develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver therapy using exercises, stretching, equipment, modalities, and hands-on techniques to manage pain, enhance mobility, and prevent future injuries.
- Build positive relationships with patients through strong interpersonal skills and motivate them to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Communicate pertinent patient information with the rehabilitation team, physicians, and other disciplines to ensure continuity of care.
- Generate progress reports and discharge summaries for submission to referring physicians.
- Document all patient care activities in accordance with department policies, maintaining accurate and thorough records.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures, rules, and infection control protocols.
- Assist with activities in the Rehabilitation Services department, including patient scheduling and quality assurance projects.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Program
- Valid State of Michigan Physical Therapist License
- Current BLS certification
- Experience in treating outpatient, acute, and long-term care patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Geriatric and orthopedic treatment experience
