Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to high-risk obstetric patients in a 14-bed Labor and Delivery unit.
- Administer medications such as oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin infusions, and perform IV starts and labs on mothers and infants.
- Monitor fetal and maternal status using fetal monitors and other specialized equipment.
- Assist with deliveries, postpartum care, and antepartum management while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory and anesthesia support to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Follow unit-specific procedures and protocols, including medication administration and patient documentation via EPIC system.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Arkansas or Compact State RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
- BLS certification.
- Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Ability to start IVs and perform venipuncture.
- Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma hospital preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN).
- Prior experience with high-risk OB patient populations and neonatal stabilization.
- Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems.
