Registered Nurse - Orthopedic
Location: Springfield, IL
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts (4x12 hours, 18:45 – 06:45)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to orthopedic patients in a 38-bed acute care hospital unit.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to patient needs during night shifts, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and facilitate procedures such as PICC line management and starting IVs.
- Float within scope to support other Med Surg departments as needed.
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health record system.
- Comply with hospital policies and safety standards, including telemetry monitoring when applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Active Illinois registered nurse license.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Telemetry experience and IV therapy skills (PICC line management, starting IVs).
- Cerner charting experience preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience with monitoring telemetry and managing complex patient cases.
- Additional certifications such as RQI cards are desirable.

Additional Notes:
- Candidates must have an active IL license at the time of submission.
- Travelers are required to float within the hospital or nearby facilities.
- Must be able to work two out of three major holidays.
- No more than 5 days RTO allowed; any additional time off requires facility approval.
- All required certifications such as AHA and Red Cross are mandatory; RQI cards are not accepted.
- Parking is provided at no cost.
