Schedule / Job Type

• Travel, Nights shift, 13-week duration, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to oncology and hematology patients in a high-acuity blood cancer unit.
• Administer medications, including blood products and electrolytes, and monitor patient responses.
• Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies with or without sedation, and thoracentesis.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care.
• Follow unit policies and safety protocols, including handling hazardous drugs and managing complex treatment regimens.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology or hematology.
• Compassionate with strong patient-centered care skills, especially for chronically ill oncology patients.
• Ability to quickly learn new procedures and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Certification or experience in chemotherapy and biotherapy preferred or obliged for consideration.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification in chemotherapy and biotherapy.
• Experience with step-down units or acute hematology care.
• Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Meditech.
• Experience performing lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, or thoracentesis.
