Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Telemetry unit, supporting those with general surgeries, bariatric, gynecology, urology, and orthopedic conditions.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, ensuring patient safety and effective cardiac monitoring.
• Administer medications, including heparin drips, TPN, and PCA pumps, as prescribed.
• Assist patients with physical needs, including mobility and hygiene, working collaboratively with CNA/PCT support.
• Float to various acute care units as needed, maintaining flexibility in assignments.
• Follow hospital protocols and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent Telemetry nursing experience within the last 18 months in a hospital setting.
• Valid Kansas RN license or Compact RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Ability to interpret telemetry rhythms accurately.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with medical diagnoses such as cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones.
• Experience managing medication infusions like heparin, TPN, and PCAs.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.

Note: This role is a backfill position starting on 1/5 or 1/19. The initial 8-hour orientation occurs at the main campus, with subsequent training at the Olathe location. There are no on-call requirements; every other weekend work is required. Holiday staffing depends on unit needs. The facility is nicotine-free and allows cancellation of one shift per two-week pay period with prior notice.
