Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for a diverse patient population including adults, adolescents, and geriatrics in a Level I trauma center.
- Monitor and manage patients with artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs.
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams covering specialties such as neurosurgery, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, colorectal, GYN, urology, interventional radiology, and transplants.
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, start IVs, and provide ventilator care.
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system in a fast-paced, 24/7 unit with 38 bays.
- Ensure compliance with certification, licensing, and hospital policies; participate in team float assignments within scope.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU or Emergency Department experience at a Level I or II facility.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Critical care experience with patients requiring invasive monitoring, transfusions, and airway management.
- Valid state license in Missouri or a compact license, in hand at time of submission.
- EPIC charting experience (if applicable to the unit).
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, rotating start times as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-volume, Level I trauma setting.
- Knowledge of a wide range of post-op surgical recovery including neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, vascular, and other specialties.
- Experience with ICP monitoring, blood product administration, and ventilated patient care.
