Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications according to prescriptions received from physicians.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement initiatives and provide consultation on quality, regulatory, and risk management issues.
• Supervise technical support staff and assist with clinical, quality, and educational programs.
• Review patient profiles to ensure appropriate, safe medication therapy, including preventing drug interactions and allergic reactions.
• Interpret medication orders, verify accuracy, and prepare medications following aseptic techniques and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, complete reports, and ensure proper storage and security of medications, including controlled substances.
• Support multidisciplinary teams by providing drug information, medication management, and dose optimization, especially for adult and geriatric populations.
• Perform tasks such as calculating dosages, monitoring drug levels, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy protocols.

Required Qualifications
• Active Colorado Pharmacist license
• American Heart Association BLS certification (must be attached to submission)
• Minimum of 1 year recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Ability to work 40+ orders per shift and enter multiple medication orders efficiently (minimum 40 orders per four-hour shift)
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations, aseptic techniques, and medication safety standards
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience working in hospital or healthcare setting
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Ability to float between multiple facilities and adapt to various clinical teams
• Experience with IV admixture, medication reconciliation, and dosages for adult and geriatric patients

• Shifts: 10-hour days, Monday through Friday; some weekend hours as needed
• Travel between Aurora and Denver facilities (approx. 3 days Aurora / 1 day Denver)
