Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery patients in the CVICU.
• Monitor, assess, and interpret patient vital signs, including reading and interpreting EKG strips and lab results such as ABGs.
• Manage advanced procedures, including A-lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, and dialysis.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure targeted patient ratios of 1:2 and deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
• Respond to patient needs during night hours, including emergencies, with a focus on patient safety and recovery.
• Float to other units as needed, supporting overall patient care across various specialty areas within Premier Health.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience, including trauma experience preferred.
• Ability to work every other holiday, including Christmas and New Year’s days.
• Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to starting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with A-lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Eligible to work in Ohio or have a compact license; license must be obtained before contract start.
• Must be able to interpret EKG strips and other cardiac telemetry.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma centers.
• Comfortable floating between multiple campuses within a short distance.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex patient data (EKG, labs, strips).
