Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a combined adult/pediatric emergency department.
• Manage and assess patients with diverse medical conditions including pediatrics, trauma, respiratory issues, neurological emergencies, and psychiatric cases.
• Perform advanced procedures such as IV therapy, airway management, chest tube insertion, and EKG interpretation.
• Administer medications, including IV paralytics, sedation, vasopressors, and emergency drugs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with isolation precautions, triage protocols, and emergency response procedures.
• Float within scope to various departments and facilities as needed, maintaining flexibility for different patient care settings.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent emergency room experience, including pediatrics and adult care.
• Current BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to manage complex cases including strokes, cardiac events, and psychiatric emergencies.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, respiratory management, and emergency medication administration.
• Experience with EPIC charting systems.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing pediatric near-drowning cases.
• Procedural sedation administration skills.
• Ability to interpret ABGs, manage ventilated patients, and handle multisystem organ dysfunction.

Additional Notes

• This position requires work every third weekend, with coverage for 8 weekends in a 6-week schedule.

• Complete all required modules and certifications prior to start date.

Note: This assignment guarantees 3 shifts every 13 weeks, with potential for additional assignments based on facility needs.
