Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, night shift, 12-hour shifts (4 days a week)
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal periods in a community hospital setting.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk obstetric cases, including sterile exams and labor management.
• Monitor fetal heart rates, perform antepartum and postpartum assessments, and support neonatal resuscitation and newborn care.
• Administer medications such as Mag Sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives, and manage IV therapy and blood products.
• Support maternal education, including breastfeeding, infant care, and discharge teaching.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
• Current and active RN license in Missouri or valid multi-state license if applicable.
• Minimum of 2 years recent labor and delivery experience within the past year, with no employment gap exceeding 90 days.
• BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required; AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate preferred.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, fetal monitoring, obstetric procedures, and neonatal assessments.
• Ability to work night shifts, participate in on-call rotations, and support multiple patient types within the LDRP setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, assistance with C-sections, and labor management.
• Competency in using external and internal fetal monitoring devices, including IUPC placement.
• Knowledge of postpartum and surgical gynecology procedures such as hysterectomies or cervical cerclage.
• Ability to work in a Level I nursery and conduct antepartum testing like NSTs and BPPs.
