Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for cardiac stepdown unit, including monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry.
• Administer medications, including narcotics and cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, and Nitro.
• Perform assessments every 4 hours and document vital signs and rhythm interpretations.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to deliver compassionate, critical thinking care to cardiac patients.
• Assist with procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, Mitral clip, thoracotomy, and manage related equipment like central lines and chest tubes.
• Ensure compliance with unit policies, dress code, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia or a state that participates in multi-state licensing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to read cardiac monitors and interpret rhythms.
• Experience administering narcotics and managing cardiac drips.
• 2+ years of ICU or PCU/Stepdown nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac stepdown or ICU experience.
• Knowledge of advanced cardiac procedures and equipment.
• Strong critical thinking and team collaboration skills.
• Prior tele or med-surg float experience.
