Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow established protocols for specimen collection, labeling, and handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and compliance standards.
- Ensure proper documentation of all specimen collections and lab procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care.
- Float to other Prisma Health units as needed and perform tasks for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented.
Required Qualifications
- Valid phlebotomy certification (e.g., NPS, ASCP, AMT, ASPT, NHA, ACA, NCCT, NPCE, NPA, NAPT, NHCO)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in phlebotomy, preferably in trauma level 1 or hospital setting.
- Recent travel experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible.
- BLS certification required.
- EMR experience with Epic preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours and float to different units as needed.
- Must submit Social Security Number with application.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Level 1 experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with travel assignments and EPIC EMR system.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and specimen handling.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
