  • Full-time, travel assignment, nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care on a 40-bed stepdown unit specializing in cardiac and medical-surgical cases
  • Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as CHF, MI, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post-cardiac cath/stent, post pacer/ICD/ablation
  • Administer titratable cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, heparin, Lasix, and Bumex
  • Utilize equipment such as Zoll monitoring, Baxter pumps, lift assist devices, bladder scanners, and Cerner EMR system
  • Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, compassion, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Adhere to unit policies and dress code (all white, or navy blue scrubs with a white or navy top)
  • Function effectively in a float capacity across Med-Surg, ICU, COVID units, and ER holding

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent IMC, PCU, or stepdown experience
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac medication administration
  • Ability to work 12.5-hour night shifts, every other weekend, with on-call as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with prostacyclin therapies (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
  • Relief charge nurse experience
  • Prior use of Cerner EMR system
