Special Education Teacher

Key Responsibilities

• Co-teach in elementary classrooms for grades K-5, managing a class of approximately 25-35 students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement a "push-in" model for special education support.
• Manage and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), conduct assessments, and maintain data collection.
• Create an engaging, high-energy learning environment aligned with the school's culture and high standards.
• Support student growth and foster a positive classroom climate in a fast-paced setting.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives focused on student success.

Required Qualifications

• Tennessee certification in Intervention (144 Interventionist K-8) or Special Education (461 Special Education K-12).
• Preferably certified in Tennessee due to delays in reciprocity processing.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills for managing IEPs, assessments, and data.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working within a Title I school setting.
• Experience with co-teaching models and inclusion strategies.
• Comfortable supporting a diverse student population with varied needs.
