Job Title

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Days shift, 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized wound care management, including assessments and treatments for complex wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, and neuropathic ulcers.
• Perform wound dressing changes utilizing various advanced dressings and debridement techniques, including surgical and mechanical methods.
• Manage ostomy care, including colostomy and ileostomy care, with skills in stoma management, equipment selection, and patient education.
• Conduct risk assessments for skin integrity and implement preventative strategies using tools such as the Braden scale and other pediatric/adult ulcer risk assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams using hospital systems such as EPIC to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, in hand at start.
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, specifically in wound care.
• Proficiency in wound assessment, dressings, and debridement techniques.
• Certifications in BLS and Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) preferred.
• Experience with pediatric and adult wound management, including ostomy care and skin integrity assessment.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Advanced wound management certifications such as ACLS, WCC, or specialized ostomy care training.
• Experience with electronic medical records, particularly EPIC.
• Ability to perform wound vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy and advanced debridement procedures.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and patient/family education.
